The role of the Corporate Partners

You can be part of the solution to help eradicate period poverty in Bristol!

Corporate partners allow us to help more people in need who are impacted by period poverty in Bristol and play an essential role in our mission.

What’s involved in being a corporate partner:

  • Volunteering – we offer regular volunteering opportunities (usually the last Friday of the month) to collect products from our public donation boxes, sort the products into smaller packages ready for distribution, and then deliver them to our community venues. This is usually a half or full day volunteering activity. Volunteering half and full days are listed on our Neighbourly profile.

We also hold donation drives which are super fun, boost our product supply and raise awareness of period poverty and how we are working to solve the problem. These require several volunteers – a great opportunity for your employees. This can be a half day, full day or a couple of hours as suits.

We’re sure there are multiple other ways your employees can help us by volunteering their professional skills (e.g. marketing, producing collateral, strategic advice, accounting etc) – if so, we’d love to hear from you! Get in touch at

  • Donating products – you’d host a donation bin (that we’ll deliver to you) in a communal area of your workplace for your staff to donate period products as and when they can. This also helps to raise awareness of the scheme. Why not launch our partnership with an office donation drive - this provides a good challenge for staff to try and fill up the donation bin!

  • Fundraising - as a corporate partner we ask that you make a small donation to help run the Charity and buy products when we are short. This is usually £500 - £1000 a year, although any amount is appreciated. We’ll also share our Just Giving page with you if any of your staff wish to donate or hold fundraising events.

What else to expect

  • We’ll deliver you a donation box, posters and all the promotional materials needed for your workplace. When donations need collecting from your donation bin, we’ll collect from you.

  • Quarterly catch ups to check in and let you know about upcoming volunteering opportunities/events.

  • We can run lunchtime learning sessions with your employees to share knowledge and help raise awareness of the issue and our scheme.

  • Regular updates through our newsletter and ways to keep your employees updated

  • through internal communications.

  • Ongoing collaboration on social media channels to share the successes and how we’re working together.

Here’s what some of our community venues say about Period Friendly Places:

“The charity restores dignity, empowers individuals and ensures everyone has access to menstrual care. You help break the barriers and help support the community, so they aren't held back by their cycle. Keep up the great work!” Easton Leisure Centre

“We’re delighted to be working with Period Friendly Places – it’s a fantastic scheme that has been great to have at our centre. Our users say how great is it to have period products available in the toilets to use for free” St Werburgh’s Community Centre

What sort of period products are needed

We need packets of sanitary pads and tampons - generally more sanitary pads are needed than tampons. We also welcome donations of other products such as period pants and cups.

Sustainability

Sustainability is an important focus for us, and wherever possible we aim to source sustainable products (e.g. organic materials, plastic-waste free, period pants/cups).

We need your support and would love to hear from you. Please get in touch by emailing periodfriendlyplaces@gmail.com or complete the form below if you’d like to find out more or join us as a corporate partner.

Thank you!
